Have you got a question you need to ask? Below are responses to some of our most frequently asked questions. Remember you can always pop in and speak to staff if you have any questions or concerns - we are always happy to help.

How much is dinner money?

Dinner money is £2.05 per day

How much is breakfast club?

£3 a day or £13 a week

How much is after school club?

£5.00 per day

What time does school start and finish?

Main school: 8.45am - 3.15pm

Morning nursery: 8.45am – 11.45am

Afternoon nursery: 12.15pm – 3.15pm

Breakfast club: 7.45am – 8.45am

After school club: 3.15pm - 4.45pm

What do I do when my child is ill?

You need to contact school by 9.30am on the first morning they are ill. This can be done by phone or email.  

When can I bring my child back to school after being poorly?

Your child can return to school when they feel well enough. In the case of sickness and diarrhoea you need to keep your child off for 48 hours after their last bout.    

I want to take my child out of school during term time, what do I do?

You need to make an application for exceptional leave and this form is available from the school office. Please note that leave will only be granted in very exceptional circumstances and this is at the headteachers discretion. If leave is not granted your child's absence will go down as unauthorised and a fine may be issued.

Do you offer after school care?
Yes we do. This runs every day in the community room from 3.15 till 4.45pm. Please see Julie Abbott (our Home School Support Worker) who will be able to advise you further.

My child needs to take medicine in school what do I do?

Please fill out and sign the medicine form which is available to download from the resources section or at the main school office. This needs to be handed in along with the medicine. The medicine must be prescribed by the doctor and be in date. It will be stored securely in a fridge in the school office. 

Is uniform compulsory and where can I buy it?

Yes, uniform at Our Lady’s School is compulsory and can be purchased from our two uniform providers 'Just Schoolwear' - 289 Main Street, Bulwell. Tel: 01159 754011 or 'The Market Man' who has a uniform stall in Bulwell Market every Tuesday Friday and Saturday

When are the school holidays?

When does my child have homework?

What is for dinner today?

What time is special mention assembly?

Unless otherwise informed, special mention assembly happens every Friday afternoon at 2.30pm

I need to speak to my child’s teacher how can I do this?

Your child’s teacher is often available after school if you need to speak to them urgently. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to speak with teaching staff by ringing the main office. Please be aware that teachers and teaching assistants are in class between 8.45am and 3.15pm. Any urgent issues can be dealt with by the office staff or by Mrs Toner, the headteacher.

How do I apply for a nursery place for my child?

An application form is available via the school office. Please note, securing a place in our nursery does not guarantee your child a place in main school. Admissions to reception class are managed by the local authority.
